Book stoicism practice

What does the city of the Stoic sages look like? Is there a hidden structure behind Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations? How can learning to master our inner discourse actually help us live with more serenity?

These are some of the questions I’ve been exploring for years through my writing on Stoicism.

Over time, I realized that Stoicism is often approached as a theory to be understood rather than a practice to be lived. This book was born from that observation. It is not meant to be a traditional introduction to Stoicism, read from beginning to end like a textbook. Instead, it brings together a collection of essays written over more than eight years on my website, Un regard stoïcien (unregardstoicien.com).

The texts have been revised, reorganized, and expanded with new material to create a reading experience that remains flexible and progressive. You can open the book at any point, follow your curiosity, or read it sequentially as a guided journey through Stoic thought.

From the core principles of the Stoic doctrine to aspects that are less often discussed, and including contemporary reflections on how to practice Stoicism today, the book offers an accessible and nuanced path — one that moves freely between ancient texts and modern life.

Stoicism is, above all, a philosophy of action and inner calm. It teaches us how to live well, whatever circumstances we face. This book is intended both for those discovering Stoicism and for those who have been practicing it for years, to be used as a companion along the way — helping cultivate clarity of mind, courage, and inner peace.

If you’re curious, the English edition of the book is now available on Amazon (Paperback or Kindle).
